New baby and more fete!

Hi everyone,

Where has the time gone? I have had a busy week - playing with new baby, fete sewing, going to a kids party, work (sewing), blah, blah, blah! LOL

Introducing my new baby -

This is my very own Notebook computer! And guess what else? It also has EQ7 on it! I feel so lucky - 2 fantasies fulfilled at once! I have had a play around with it and I think it will take some time to get used too, I am used to using a PC with linux. But it will be a fun ride I am sure!

More fete items -

My darling mum whipped these up for me! We shaped these wheat bags like hot water bottles!

And finally some sneak peeks -

This is a peek at the quilt I am donating to the kindy for their fete. I am in the process of quilting it and hope to have it finished by next week.

I will show you what these will be next week (hopefully)!

Sorry this has been a long post, it's funny though because I feel like I have writers block - I don't know what to say next! Soooo, I think I will say "goodnight"!

Be happy,
Jess

Fete Crazy! .... and meet Pepper!

Hi all,

I have been crazily crafting for the fete, which I have talked about before, but I don't think I mentioned that TP goes to a Montessori kindy, this is named after the italian woman Maria Montessori who devised the teaching methods used.

Anyway, at the moment if I'm not sewing for the fete I'm thinking about what I can sew for the fete! I am fete crazy!

With a lot of help from my mum I got a few more things made over the last few days -

Pot holders ..........

and Coaster sets!

I also managed to fit in time to make a present for a friend who is having a baby in a few weeks.

Meet Pepper and her baby!

This is one of Dear Fii's lovely creations which was in Homespun magazine a little while ago. I have been waiting for an excuse to make her and a new baby girl seems just right!

Bee happy,
Jess

Quilt Swap quilt finished!

Hi all,

I have been finishing off my quilt for the Little Quilt Swap this week.

I have called it "Ric Rac and Pansies". The reasons for the name are probably pretty obvious, the pansy block centres and the ric rac in the seams.

Fete update - I have 13 aprons finished. Do you think I should make more? I'm really in the dark here about what sells, how many and how much to charge - have you got any ideas?

Here is a pic of what the finished aprons are like, I'd say they would fit a 4 year old up to 8 or 10 years. TP is 4 and I had to fold the waist a bit, but otherwise I'm quite happy with them.

I am going to go work on some pot holders now, while BW is napping!

Be happy,
Jess

Up and running again!

Hi all,

Firstly I'd really like to thank all of you who left comments wishing for my return to good health.

I am happy to report that I am well and truly on the mend. It was a nasty couple of weeks and lets just say "I am a control freak and when I can't control my own body it's not good."

But I am back - up and running again!

For some crazy reason I volunteered to make some stuff for TP's kindy fete, which is in August and may seem a long way away now but I know it will be here before I can turn around!

Can you tell what these are? Here is another pic -

Thats right - they are kid size aprons! They are just waiting for buttons and button-holes (my job for tomorrow), I, with help from my mum, have made 5 navy for boys, 5 hot pink & 3 orangey aprons. Once these are finished I will start something else, what I'm not sure of yet, but I have many ideas rolling around in my head!

I am also donating a quilt, it is only a lap size but I still need to quilt it, so that is high up on my list. I also have to finish quilting my Little Quilt Swap quilt! What am I doing here?! I should be tied to the machine!!

By the way - do you like my label?

It might be a bit out of focus, I actually shake quite a bit! Hubby says I should get all my sewing done now while I can! Anyway, I think the label adds a touch of fun professionalism to the project - don't you agree?

As always, be happy,
Jess
